See what Klopp said after Liverpool fought back to beat Wolves 3-1 in the second half

Jurgen Klopp had mixed feelings after Liverpool’s dramatic comeback to secure a 3-1 victory over Wolves in the Premier League. The first half saw Liverpool struggling, with Hee-Chan Hwang scoring for Wolves and Matheus Cunha coming close to extending their lead.

Klopp acknowledged that the fatigue from the international break contributed to their lackluster first-half performance.

He stated, “We have to play better than we did in the first half. We did in the second, which was the best moment to react.” Klopp further explained that they tried to assess which players were physically ready after the international break, and the first half revealed some shortcomings.

However, the second half witnessed a remarkable turnaround. Klopp made tactical and physical changes, and Liverpool came back strongly.

“In the second half, we controlled it completely, and it was a really good game then,” Klopp noted. He expressed satisfaction with the overall performance, stating that Liverpool deserved to win the match.

Regarding midfielder Alexis MacAllister’s struggles in the first half, Klopp explained that he was fatigued and had picked up a yellow card. Despite some ups and downs in his performance, Klopp acknowledged Mac Allister’s potential.

Liverpool’s ability to stage comebacks has been a recurring theme this season, with three out of their four wins coming from behind. Klopp emphasized the character of his team in transition, saying, “Usually you learn these things [such as character] a bit later in the season. We learned early.”

However, Klopp acknowledged that stability remains a challenge due to the significant changes in the team. He also mentioned that the first half following an international break can be challenging as players need to shake off the rust.

Liverpool’s next fixture is in the Europa League against Linz ASK, followed by a Premier League clash against West Ham. Klopp remains optimistic about his team’s performance and continues to emphasize their ability to react positively, even in challenging situations.
