“Yeah, definitely,” Rashford responded when asked if playing from the right side was his most challenging position in the front three. He explained, “It’s just the angles of the runs you make in behind—because most of my game is running in behind and trying to stretch defences and give space to some of the other players.“
He further detailed the struggle, saying, “But the angles of the runs sometimes make me feel like I run too far inside, and then I’m running backward the other way to try and get the ball. Whereas on the left, it’s just natural to do it; it feels more normal.“
Despite the current difficulties, Ten Hag has expressed confidence in Rashford’s ability to bounce back.
Emphasizing a private conversation with the player over public scrutiny, Ten Hag stated, “I will talk to him and not the media. I don’t go into individual performances. I knew this issue was coming up, and Marcus is investing a lot. He will return to his form, he will recover, and he gets all our support.”
