Here’s what Egypt coach said about Salah after helping them win 2-0 over Tanzania

In a thrilling friendly match this past Sunday, Egypt secured a 2-0 victory over Tanzania, and the spotlight was firmly on Liverpool’s star forward, Mohamed Salah.

With the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) looming on the horizon, this match served as a pivotal warm-up for both teams.

Salah was undeniably the catalyst for Egypt’s success. He was directly involved in both goals that sealed the win.

His first-time through ball beautifully set up Trezeguet, who calmly slotted home the opener during the first half in Cairo.

And if that wasn’t enough, Salah showcased his striking prowess when his 73rd-minute penalty initially hit the crossbar, only to rebound off Tanzania goalkeeper Aishi Manula and into the net.

Looking ahead, Egypt’s AFCON journey kicks off against Mozambique on January 14.

Their performance against Tanzania has undoubtedly boosted morale, but it also posed questions about the team’s lineup and strategies.

Egypt’s Win Over Tanzania: Salah Shines and Coach Vitoria Speaks Out

Addressing the media post-match, Egypt’s coach, Rui Vitoria, shared his insights on the game and the team’s condition. “We wanted to make sure that everyone is fit and ready today,” Vitoria said in the press conference.

I think everyone is performing at the highest level because they want to earn their place in the squad but I can only choose 11 players in the end,” Vitoria remarked. He continued, emphasizing the versatility of Salah, stating;

Salah playing a central midfield role? It was clear today that he can play that part, and he doesn’t necessarily have to play on the wing at all times.

Providing updates on the team’s health, Vitoria mentioned, “Omar Kamal sustained a minor injury, which we’ll evaluate further. On a brighter note, Yasser Ibrahim has been given the green light and is fit to play for us.”

With the AFCON just around the corner, Egypt’s performance against Tanzania and Salah’s pivotal role in it serve as a promising sign for the challenges ahead.
